Organization Description:
ACTION is a global partnership of advocacy organizations working to influence policy and mobilize resources to fight diseases of poverty and improve equitable access to health services.

ACTION was founded in 2004 as a partnership of civil society advocacy organizations with the shared mission of mobilizing new resources against tuberculosis (TB), a disease that kills one person every 20 seconds. ACTION partners work across five continents in both donor and high burden countries and advocate at the local, national, and global levels.

Building off of its successes in global TB advocacy, ACTION expanded its mission to tackle more diseases of poverty and improve equitable access to health. Under its new mission, ACTION partners expanded advocacy efforts to increase coverage of new and basic vaccines for children, which save approximately 3 million lives every year. Guided by our vision where all people achieve their right to access lifesaving health services, ACTION builds on our existing international partnership to advocate for the world’s most vulnerable.
