Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
We work with the National TB Controllers Association in the USA to ensure that TB treatment in the USA is patient centered. We feature in educational presentations and materials, we provide support to those in treatment.

Drug-Resistant TB:
We have several members that had or were directly affected by (their children) drug resistant TB. These members talk openly about their experiences with others and express the impact the burden of DRTB has on a person and their family, as well as provide support to those currently dealing with DR-TB.

TB-HIV:
We have members that are living with HIV and who also dealt with TB. These members talk openly about their experiences with others and express the special concerns of someone with a TB-HIV co-infection, as well as provide support to those currently dealing with the same.

New Diagnostics:
People who have TB in the USA often suffer from delayed diagnosis just like in other parts of the world. We Are TB members engage our elected officials and encourage them to support funding for new TB diagnostics and access to them for all.

New TB Drugs:
While drug regimens are getting shorter for people with TB, the treatment is still long and difficult, and rife with damaging side effects. We Are TB members engage our elected officials and encourage them to support funding for new TB drugs and access to them for all.

New TB Vaccines:
We will not end TB without a vaccine. We Are TB members engage our elected officials and encourage them to support funding for a TB Vaccine.
