Indian Railways Public Health association is the professional association of Public Health professionals working in the Indian Railways Medical Service. India Railways Medical service is providing comprehensive health care to more than 1.5 million Railway employees, 5.5 million of their family members as also retired railway personnel spread across the length and breadth of the country i.e. India. The IRMS presently has 110 hospitals and 587 Health Units with more than 2,500 Medical Doctors and more than 50,000 other Paramedical personnel. It holds Annual Scientific Conferences, does research, education Training and advocacy effort in improving the Health System for prevention and Control of Infectious,specially TB, Malaria and HIV, and Non infectious Diseases, promotion of health status at workplace and home environment, provides most modern treatment to affected individuals and also ensures rehabilitaion of disabled and physically challenged persons. |
