Organization Description:
RESULTS is an international grassroots advocacy organisation working to generate the public and political will to end hunger and the worst aspects of poverty. RESULTS works in for key issue areas: Global Health (with specific expertise in tuberculosis and TB-HIV); Child Survival and vaccines; basic education for all; microfinance.

RESULTS has a two tiered approach to health advocacy, mobilising both grassroots actions in the UK to engage with the general public and their elected representatives, championing for key investments and interventions proven to save lives, while simultaneously engaging in direct advocacy with policy and decision makers to ultimately influence DFID policy on TB.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

Drug-Resistant TB:
RESULTS UK works with TB stakeholders across the UK and the ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership to mobilise financial resources and policy change to ensure the UK Government works towards achieving Global Plan Targets

TB-HIV:
RESULTS UK works tirelessly to advocate to HIV/AIDS and other health networks on the need to address TB-HIV coinfection and jointly advocate to UKG on resource mobilisation and effective policy change

New Diagnostics:
RESULTS UK is supportive of R&D needs for new diagnostics and works on messaging on diagnostics and support of GeneXpert with our high profile parliamentarian delegations to high burden countries and campaigns targeting the UK Government.

New TB Drugs:
Working with the UK Coalition to Stop TB to ensure UK Government continues to prioritise investment into R&D for new drugs; working with UK researchers to better inform parliamentary and work with with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Global TB to better inform decision makers on the latest updates, progress and prospects for new drugs in the pipeline

New TB Vaccines:
RESULTS works closely with orgaanisations such as TB Alliance and Aeras in the UK and in Europe to influence both the UK and European Parliament.
