Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
The main goal of the DOTS component of the Global
Plan is to reduce the global burden of TB in line with
the targets set for 2012 for 2015 as part of the Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs) and by the Stop TB
Partnership, through early TB diagnosis, highquality
treatment of all cases, and prevention of TB
transmission.

TB-HIV:
Scale up access to HIV testing among
TB patients. By 2012, the target is that VCT of TB
patients should be tested be conducted in about 20 communities.

Scale up access to ART for HIVpositive
TB patients according to international
guidelines.

Provision of ART needs to be expanded,
such that by 2012 all HIV-positive TB patients –
estimated at almost 1 million people in 2009 – are
enrolled on ART

RANET policies need to be updated so that all HIV positive
TB patients are eligible for ART and to ensure
that access to TB and HIV services is promoted
among the populations that are most at-risk in these communities
