INTRODUCTION “ Improve the quality and efficiency of public and private sector health care systems in a developing country”
The Association for Social Development(ASD) is a non profit organization, non-political professional organization established in 1995. The Association works primarily to improve the quality and efficiency of public and private sector health care systems in a developing country context.
The objectives are to: - Foster scientific development and education in the fields of health services and public health programme, environment and community development. - Design, plan and conduct research to identify effective and feasible strategies for health care systems within low resource situations - Get the research into policy and practice by developing guidelines, tools, training materials for managers and care providers. - Technical support to government and other agencies for designing, planning, implementing and evaluating the health care programmes and projects - Develop and disseminate model of collaboration between public and private sector agencies.
SERVICES The Association has so far focused mainly on four closely related core health programme i.e Tuberculosis, Malaria, Sexual & Reproductive Health, and Nutrition. Related to each of these four programmes the Association offer services in a broad range of cross-cutting areas.
i. Project Conception, Development and Implementation
- Initial concept development - Project appraisal and planning - Project management - Monitoring and evaluation - Facilitation of workshops and conferences - Short and long term consultancy
