Organization Description:
We are into advocacy,diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in a refugee set up.
We want to expand and do a lot of community based DOTS. As at 31st December,2010 we have handled more than two hundred and eighty TB cases since September,2003.
We build capacity for communities and empower them to take over the programme at their level.

We receive most of our referrals from Public Health facilities in the District and from Korle-bu Teaching Hospital where most sick people end being diagnosed.
We give the programme data and they give us drugs and logistics to work.
We are also involved in building capacity for some public facilities.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
We are a community based dots providers in a refugee setting. We are currently engaging the traditional leaders,churches and schools,drinking and chop bar operators in TB/HIV sensitization to further get close to the community members.
Between September 2003 to December 2010, we have registered 208 TB cases and still counting,

Drug-Resistant TB:
We operate a diagnostic facility which is limited to smear microscopy.
We are looking forward to establish a complete TB laboratory to be able to do cultures and DST, Molecular and other techniques in diagnosing MDRTB.
The founder has a very strong laboratory background.

TB-HIV:
Currently we don't do routine HIV counseling and testing.We hope to in the near future to this.But clients are offered education and encouraged to do the test.
This message is very strong in our sensitization presentation.

Laboratory Strengthening:
We have been helping the districts in our catchment by doing smear microscopy for them. We are also involved in the design and building of labs for TB diagnostics.
We hope to establish a very well standardized TB diagnostic Facility to be able to impact the communities we find ourselves
