ATM interventions. One of the identified community level committees is the Ward Health Development Committees (WHDCs). Strategies have been put in place to sensitize and equip the WHDC to serve as actors for TB response. So far, various steps have been taken towards achieving this; the identification and training of key Community workers/Volunteers to support the implementation of the strategies, orientation and training workshops for WDC members in the 5 focal wards within the 5 focal LGAs in the HSS , experience sharing and development of WDC year 2011 operational work plan, advocacy visits and submission of work plan to LGA policy makers in the 5 focal LGAs as well as quarterly WDC experience sharing and evaluation. As part of planned efforts to ensure that standards are maintained and the WDC activities are well monitored evaluated and experiences shared, the ATM team is able to carry out WDC experience sharing and evaluation meetings at the LGA. The meeting provided a forum for WDC members from the 5 HSS focal wards to share experiences among themselves and with representatives of WDC from all other wards within the LGA. Capacity building of WDC members on ATM concept, integration of the network at the community and ward levels and strategies to scale up ATM activities was also carried out.
Presently,Willing Health is involved in the Training Of CBOs, and as Trainer of Trainers under GFATM Round 8. Involved in CTBC which is an important activity of the GF TB Round 9 is the engagement of CSOs for social mobilization aimed at creating awareness on DOTs. This is because community involvement in TB care is a very important strategy in the control of TB and also necessary to achieve an important objective ‘’To promote behavior change about TB in the community’’. To implement this strategy, Willing Health Advocacy & Training Support has been selected to implement CTBC activities on behalf of the TB NETWORK/NTBLCP. Part of its role in the implementation of CTBC is the selection of 15 CBOs from 10 LGAs each in three South South States for CTBC implementation .The CBOs would be trained on inter-personal communication and mobilization of community members...
