Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

Drug-Resistant TB:
Through the “Living together, breathing together” project, we intend to facilitate access to medication for patients, especially those chemo-resistant, who have a problem in finding new medicines capable of covering their range of sensitivity. We will do this by facilitating these drugs’access on the market, as same as by ensuring the continuity of long term treatment (safety stocks for minimum three months).

TB-HIV:
We permanently try to develop relations and partnerships with other national and international organizations, institutions, companies, in order to cooperate to the benefit of tuberculosis sufferers. Furthermore, all our actions address at the same time to both patients with TB and patients co-infected with HIV.

New Diagnostics:
Through the „Living together, breathing together” project we intend to facilitate patients’ access to modern, fast and safe diagnostic methods to reduce waiting times to confirm the diagnosis.

New TB Drugs:
The Romanian TB Patients’ Association supports the development and introduction of more efficient and affordable new TB drugs.

New TB Vaccines:
The Romanian TB Patients’ Association supports the introduction of new effective TB vaccines and vaccination strategies.
