| Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan: |
In Italy there is not a national TB plan.However, the partnership has been contributing to address the challenge faced regarding TB in the country. The partnership's main services and functions are: 1) Provide information and raise awareness of the population and the institutions related to TB prevention, diagnosis and treatment. 2) Advocate for political changes, reforms and funding among decision makers and public institutions. 3) Give support to TB patients in Italy (mostly patients from Eastern Europe countries and North Africa who receive economic support to get to Villa Marelli or Sondalo hospital for treatment and follow up) and abroad through projects that support national TB programmes in high burden countries. 4) Offer medical expertise and support for training health care providers.
