AquaBioChip Genomics is newly established Company working in the intersection of genomics, microfluidics and health. Since its inception in October 2007 it has established a cutting edge molecular biology lab in Uttar Pradesh (a state with large number of TB cases) established LAMP assay in our lab, acquired and tested primers for TB genotypes.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

Drug-Resistant TB:
Through the support from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, are engaged in developing a low cost device and assay for MDR/XDR TB. The project is expected to be completed in 3 years. For clinical validation, we are partnering with the local hospital engaged in TB treatment.

TB-HIV:
We are also engaged in negotiations with a US company to license us their device for measuring viral load in a point-of-care setting. At present the equipment to carry out HIV viral load during treatment are scarce and not available broadly.

Laboratory Strengthening:
We have significant molecular biology related equipment and capabilities in the state of Uttar Pradesh which can be used for many other diseases, if need be.

New Diagnostics:
We are also working on low cost diagnostics for Dengue and a number of other diseases prevalent in India.

Fundamental Research:
In collaboration with a US company and in partnership with local academic institution, we are also engaged in developing a centralized healthcare platform for rural India.
