The Good Neighbour Inc. is a transnational, non-governmental, non-profit making organization. TGN is a health based organization that implements community interventions among most at risk populations. The community interventions are in public health and related issues including sexual and reproductive health and Human Immuno-deficiency Virus & Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS). TGN began operations in Nigeria in September 2000 having been registered and operating in Monrovia, Liberia since Nov.1998. TGN is registered in Nigeria with Corporate Affairs commission Abuja. MISSION Our mission is to sensitise, inform and educate the most at risk populations on public health and related issues including sexual and reproductive health in order to enable them make informed decision concerning their wellbeing.
VISION To help build a society that is sensitized to public health issues including sexual and reproductive health in order to improve their wellbeing.
Objectives ? To disseminate quality and comprehensive information in the sexual and reproductive health and public health field thus orientating the public towards making optimum life saving decisions. ? To mobilise communities through public health interventions on Tuberculosis and Malaria to ensure disease free communities. ? To enlighten the most at risk populations in the sexual and reproductive health and public health issues to effect behaviour change. These objectives explains our interest in contributing to a world free of tuberculosis. Our focus areas in tuberculosis programme are Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation (ACSM), TB/HIV Collaborative Activities and Community TB care. TGN is presently involved in the training of community volunteers and treatment supporters in community TB care for early and increased TB case detection in the implementation of Global Funds round 9 for Nigeria. | We do submitt report of our community interventions to NTBLCP Abuja. We share information on TB issues and participate in national programmes. The CEO was a member of the international and national task force constituted in 2006 that facilitated the establishment of Nigeria Stop TB Partnership. The CEO also participates in the development of Nigeria Global Funds proposal for TB. |
