| Organization Description: |
The Alliance Nationale contre le SIDA en Côte d’Ivoire (ANS-CI) is a national Ivorian NGO established in November 2005 and registered in Côte d’Ivoire in 2006. Until now, ANS-CI had been operating as a Country Office of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance) which received PEPFAR funding in 2005 to rapidly establish an NGO/CBO support program in Côte d’Ivoire. Through building the capacity of local staff and the newly-formed board of ANS-CI, establishing systems, policies and procedures, and enhancing HIV/AIDS technical know-how and capacity, the ANS-CI has become an independent national organization, ANS-CI.
Institutional Development The ANS-CI has substantial experience in establishing and strengthening the capacity of NGOs as intermediaries for the mobilization, facilitation and scaling up of community responses to HIV/AIDS. ANS-CI will continue to draw on international and regional expertise and receive ongoing strategic technical support from the wider Alliance to strengthen the capacity of its newly formed Board, ANS-CI staff and partner NGOs/CBOs and networks. The Alliance Côte d’Ivoire Office has three key teams of skilled and experienced local staff: Finance and Administration, Programs, and Monitoring and Evaluation. Alliance Cote d’Ivoire is planning to raise resources / funds in order to strengthen along with the State of Côte d'Ivoire, the national response against the TB and HIV. These funds will be used to provide effective financial and technical support to community-based fight against TB projects, especially those that focus on: Improving particularly populations of poor settings awareness of TB suggestive signs and factors that lead to TB occurrence Improving potential targets accessibility to active, earlier TB diagnosis and treatment delivery services Significant reduction of TB patients loss to follow and TB treatment failure rate Improving the referral system between community actors and health professionals in TB / HIV delivery services |
