Association Burundaise des Etudiants en Médecine (ABEM) is the medical students' association of Burundi created in 2002.ABEM is a full member of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA)since 2008. He is also member of the Burundian Alliance against Aids.
His main objective is the improvement of the global health of Burundi population. TB is a big issue of public health in Burundi since it tends to increase due to the extreme poverty and the global burden of HIV/Aids. As an association of future physicians, we have the responsability to take action and act! In Burundi, there is a national program on TB in the ministry of health. We collaborate with the program in conducting awareness campaign on TB, mobilising communities and also advocate for specified trainings on TB control towards medical students, future physicians. |
