Organization Description:
Gosanet Foundation is non-governmental, non- political, voluntary, community-based and non-profit organization established in 2005, to meet the health and developmental needs of communities in the Volta Region and Ghana as a whole. The foundation was incorporated in 2006 and duly registered with Registrar General Department at Victoriaborg, Accra, - Ghana under the company code 1963 (Act 179) registration no. G-19064; Department of Social Welfare with NGO registration no. DSW/3372; registered with Ho municipal Assembly, Nkwanta North/South District Assembly, Adaklu Anyigbe District Assembly and newly created Adaklu District Assembly as voluntary organization. Gosanet works in collaboration with GHS/MOH and a member of Stop TB Partnership-Ghana, Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health, Ghana HIV & AIDS Network (GHANET), National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) International and Volta Child Right and Protection Network.
It is our goal to promote socio –economic life of people as well as facilitate collaborations, co – ordination, information sharing and general healthcare among its support and target groups, communities, schools and individual s in TB, Malaria and HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support activities.

The foundation helps in combating Tuberculosis, HIV and AIDS, malaria and other diseases to achieve MDGs in Ghana.

This involves collaboration, volunteering and partnership with government and sustainable community initiatives. Certain development projects to be undertaken by the Gosanet Foundation are to be funded by other development agencies or donors.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
* TB Awareness Talk in Eight (8) Communities to mark World TB Day. 1,802 pupils in primary schools and JHS benefited. 54 Teachers were also involved.
* Screening of TB Clients for HIV.
* Involved in 2011 4th Quarter TB/HIV Review Meetings.
* Trained 22 CHNs on TB/HIV management, care and control.
* Hold durbars in 10 communities on prevention of TB and early reporting to health facilities
* Involved in 2nd quarter TB review meeting for 31 in-charges
* Trained 20 CBSVs
* Trained four lab personnel in TB microscopy
* Distributed desk aid booklets to 19 facilities.
* Conducted monitoring visit to 16 health facilities and 14 communities.
* Distribution of Enablers Package for TB Clients, and health care providers.
* Sensitization workshop for PLWHIV in Ho and Nkwanta North municipals by Gosanet Foundation.
* Sensitization workshop for Community Based Assistants and Community Volunteers by Gosanet Foundation.
*GOSANET Foundation sensitized 168 Children and eight (8) teachers on "KICK TB" at ALPHA ASET INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL,Akoefe Akoefe-Achati and A.M.E. ZION CHURCH,Sunday School,Tanyigbe-Etoe.
*Two(2)Tuberculosis(TB)Clubs and Two(2) Soccer teams were formed at Alpha Aset International School,Akoefe-Achati and Tanigbe-Etoe.
During the monitoring and evaluation the indication was that,the 168 children who participated in the "KICK TB" programme were able to educate over eight(800) people about the coughing etiquette within two(2) weeks.
*GOSANET FOUNDATION started organising "KICK TUBERCULOSIS(TB)OUT EDUCATION CAMPAIGN"Project at the grassroot level with children,in its catchment areas and beyond in Volta Region.

TB Care Delivery:
• Active case search and detention
• Selection and training of volunteers
• Identifying drug resistant TB patience for referrals

• Monitoring and supervision visit to volunteers
• Sensitization of TB treatment supporters and Community Base Surveillance volunteers (CBSVs) on TB new regiment.
• TB awareness talks in communities including prison, schools and churches.

• Distribution of Drugs/ sputum containers/GHS
• Registration of clients for National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Gosanet foundation is a non profit organization and committed in improving the health status of people especially those living in remote rural and less Prevalent communities through advocacy, disease and control prevention, behavioral change communication, community mobilization and participation.
The organization will not for any reason have any conflict of interest as a member of Global Partnership to Stop TB but will duly be committed and conform policies of the group in other to help achieve its set goals and objectives.
