DEFENCE HEALTH CLUB IS A SUPPORT GROUP OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV AND EITHER INFECTED WITH TB OR HAVE TREATED TB AT ONE TIME OF THE OTHER. OUR MISSION IS TO ADVOCATE FOR THE RIGHTS OF TB PATIENTS AND IMPROVED PATIENT EDUCATION ON TB CHARTER 8. THE CLUB HAS MEMBERSHIP IN ALL MILITARY FORMATIONS IN NIGERIA. IT IS ONE OF THE COMMUNITY BASED ORGANISATIONS WORKING WITH ARMED FORCES PROGRAM ON AIDS CONTROL ON ISSUES RELATION TO ADHERENCE,REFERRALS AND POSITIVE LIVING IN BARRACKS COMMUNITIES IN NIGERIA.

Defence Health Club contributes to the National TB plan through Case detection treatment and advocacy. We also contribute through training and sustaining Community volunteers for treatment support and referrals.

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
Objective 2: Ensure high- quality treatment of all diagnostic cases of TB (pulmonary, both smear positive and -negative; extra pulmonary and MDR -TB in adult and children through Education, Community Mobilization and support services in FCT with support from Health Alive Foundation Ilorin 2011- on going by the use of community volunteers as referrals, treatment supporters and educators. Also with support from Action aid Nigeria been involved in Ward health development committees for TB awareness creation and quality assurance in PHCs in FCT and Benue states since 2010 till date
