Organization Description:
The Britain Nepal Medical Trust (BNMT) established as British charity in 1967 to assist the people of Nepal to improve their health through supporting sustainable health service delivery, capacity building and people's empowerment. Since its inception, it has been working with the National Tuberculosis Centre (NTC), Nepal to fight against Tuberculosis (TB) within the framework of National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP). It has played a pioneer role in establishing the National TB Programme and is actively supporting the NTC in achieving the NTP goal and objectives by implementing prevention and control programmes.

Vision, Mission, Purposes and Approach of BNMT

To improve health and wellbeing of Nepali people is the vision and working together with stakeholders in ensuring equity and access to quality health service and better livelihood options for disadvantaged people is the mission of the BNMT. Its purposes are:

1. To enhance the capacity and expedite the institutional strengthening process of the health service providers including government and non governmental organizations at all levels.
2. To contribute in empowerment of people at the community level in ensuring access to information, access & control over the locally available resources and their participation in all decision making process by organizing and developing assertiveness.
