| Youths and Women in Action-Uganda (YAWIA-Uganda) is a Non Government Organisation that was started as a CBO in 2004 and registered in 2007 under the NGO statue of 1989. It was formed after realizing that adolescents and rural women in Uganda lacked adequate knowledge on their own sexuality and reproductive health which puts them at a higher risk of HIV/AIDS, TB, STIs, unwanted pregnancies and early child bearing. YAWIA Uganda is a base for Community Based clinical services (family planning, treatment of sexually transmitted infections, HCT, and maternal and child health services) in Bugiri, Namayingo, Abim, Namutumba, Mayuge, Buyende, Amuria, Kaliro, Budaka and Butaleja Districts. |
