Organization Description:
Annabelles Bogi Development Initiative(ABDI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in the year 2000,with head office located at Aba,Abia State Nigeria.

Our mission is to empower the vulnerable and the disadvantaged through the processes of re-discovery and nurturing.

Since establishment,we have carried out several health related projects particularly on HIV/AIDS among the underserved population in our project areas.

We became very much interested in TB during the implementation of the NICaB Project,a USAID supported project with technical assitance from MSH, that seeks to improve the quality of life of persons living with HIV/AIDS/TB.

One of the strategies of the project is community mobilization for increased uptake of quality services.Through community mobilization,we had the opportunity to meet several clients living with TB/HIV and we have been also faced with the reality of TB among the poor and ignorant.

Our organization will continue to educate community members about TB thereby contributing to the elimination of the ignorance, myths, cultural and religious beliefs that hinder people from accessing quality TB control services. This will go a long way in improving the tB case detection and cure rate for Nigeria.
