ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION DACT Having been funding partner organizations in south India for a number of years , Village Service Trust ( VST) , based at UK , wanted to create a structure in India which will eventually coordinate all its activities within India and act as a conduit for canalizing funds. The trust was set up as a closed structure with Directors of partner organizations acting as trustees , facilitated by an external person , and VST representative chairing it. Over a period of time the trust has become a open body with all trustees drawn from outside.
DACT aims to empower those affected by poverty , marginalisation & gender and other vulnerable sections to gain access to resources and enable them to develop themselves socially, economically and politically in a sustainable way. It also aims at preventing and controlling communicable diseases and develop health and development models It will engage itself in advocacy and lobbying for social , economic , political and other rights of dalits and other vulnerable groups.
DACT now supports around 10 organisations in Tamil Nadu which are basically involved in achieving the objectives of VST/DACT which is to empower the poor and marginalised for their advancement and control of communicable diseases , particularly TB/HIV/AIDS.

These programmes were jointly designed by DACT, Target TB and VST staff. DACT partner NGOs have run TB microscopy and treatment centres accredited by RNTCP for 6 years, and one partner has an externally monitored control laboratory. TB work is integrated into com |
