Organization Description:
1. Women and Youth Development Initiatives is a non governmental organization that has been working at the grassroots level, zero level of ignorance, hazard free environment and health friendly decisions for the betterment of women and youth and the society at large.
2. Having been working at the grassroots level on health and basic hygiene and also we have been working on TB through awareness raising, we feel incorporating and identifying with Stakeholders that have been working will further be a plus to our activities and organisation as we wish to do more.
3. We plan to do community outreach through advocacy, mobilization and sensitization. we also plan to research into effective ways of reducing the disease, etc

We take up interventions through community mobilization and awareness raising on TB and other related issues. We also assist on Referral to DOTs Centres

TB Care Delivery:
Our organization contributed through Promoting Behavior Change in the Community via Community Mobilization ans Awareness on Community TB Care. This we did through selection of Community Volunteers- the project was done with support from the Global Fund Round 9 TB GFATM Grant Eradication project.
Our organisation benefited as a SUB-SUB RECIPIENT TO Health Alive

Drug-Resistant TB:
The selection of Community Volunteers help in the detection of early cases of TB and patients that are defecting in taking drugs for specified period. Also, our organization do follow up on patients at home and in DOTs centres to support patients in taking drugs consistently, thus, avoiding the cases of Drug resistancy.

TB-HIV:
We advocate and senstize on the risk of co- infection

Laboratory Strengthening:
Advocacy to Stakeholders in the society requesting for support in respective community in the for functional laboratories and its closeness to the people. Recently we approached a Local Government Chairman in Kwara state, seeking for his attention on the upgrading of one of the facilities in his LGA, He obliged and hopefully, a fuctional lab we be in that municipality soon

New TB Drugs:
We try to help patients have access to the free drugs in DOTs centres

We undergo research from time to time
