Organization Description:
Azerbaijan Health Communication Association (AHCA) is a local NGO established in October 2008. AHCA brings together national communication, public relations and social marketing specialists with broad experience working for international organizations and donor-funded projects as well as the government of Azerbaijan.

AHCA aims to
• improve the capacity of national communication specialists through a continuous professional advancement system,
• raise awareness on health issues through behaviour change activities among the general public, patients and care providers,
• contribute to development of the theoretical basis of communication interventions through quantitative and qualitative social research.

Understanding the challenge of TB problem in Azerbaijan, AHCA attempts to contribute to the fight against tuberculosis through ACSM activities, such as awareness raising of general public, community mobilization for treatment adherence and support, media and policy advocacy to overcome TB-related stigma.
