Organization Description:
TB ACTION Group is a National organization whose main objective is to enhance collaboration between TB patients, civil society, organizations, Government agencies, and research institutions for the purpose of controlling TB, TBHIV, MDRTB and XDR TB, and to help in the care and support of those infected with or affected by Tuberculosis.
TB ACTION Group is a registered partner of the Stop TB Partnership.

Our Vision:

To be an excellent advocacy organization in the promotion, prevention and control of TB and public health conditions in Kenya.

Mission Statement

To promote health and quality of life by promoting, preventing and managing tuberculosis and other public health conditions from Kenya through community engagement and collaborating with partners involved in controlling tuberculosis
TAG is currently undertaking the folowing activities:

- Accelerating TB case detection campaigns in high-burden Districts especially among persons living with HIV and AIDS.
- Sustainable Livelihoods for Multi-drug resistant-TB patients.
- Policy and Advocacy on TB prevention, care and control
- Capacity Building for Community Health workers (CHWS)
- Documentation and Research on TB case detection, care and prevention.
- Community Systems strengthening
- Maternal and neonates Child Health (MNCH) Programmes
The above mentioned activities are beibg carried out in the districts mentioned below:
- Kisumu District
- Thika District
- Nairobi Province
- Nakuru District
- Naivasha District
- Kajiado and Makueni Districts

TAG seats in various working group organised by the National TB programme. It is within this working groups that the national programme develops its strategic plan in relation to TB care prevention and control.
TAG also involves the National TB programme in all its activities to ensure they are relevant and inline with the national TB programmes' strategic goal.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
Encouraging early TB detecion and treatment.
Involvement of Community health workers in DOT support and sceening of suspects, referral of suspect. contact and defaulter tracing

Drug-Resistant TB:
TAG implements income generating activities for MDRTB pateints to encourage adherence and economic independence
Advocating for better diagnostic equipments for early detection of MDRTB

TB-HIV:
TAG advocates for Intensified TB case finding amongst PLHIV to ensure all HIV positiev patients are screened for TB and offered comprehensive care.
