The leader of the organization has gained valuable and great experience in the field of TB control and management working at the TB department in the international Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for 14 years. Due to ICRC hand over of TB control program to Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan Mr Elchin Mukhtarli decided to establish an NGO where he can make use of his experience, skills and abilities. So the NGO was created and registered at the government on August 2010. Participated at the Tender on January 2011 which was held by the ministry of Justice who is a Principal Recipient for the GFATM grant round 9 TB fund and win the tender and became Sub-recipient in the project "Strengthening TB control in prison". We started the implementation of the project since March 2011 with the contract signed by the MOJ for 2 years. The project outline; Project title is 'Follow up of released TB and MDR-TB patients discharge from prison without complete TB treatment'. We cover whole country (59 rayons and cities including capital city) by doing follow up treatment and social support (incentive and enablers) to all released TB patients to ensure the patients take full treatment, adhere treatment and get cured of TB. Now we need more funds to strengthen the activity and solve social and psycho-social problems of released TB patients and carry out TB education campaigns. |
