Organization Description:
Health Development Alternative Initiative (HDAI) is an independent, non Governmental, non-political, not – for - profit Organization with the overall aim of improving the health status and wellbeing of our people as well as their socio economic development. HDAI shall contribute significantly towards the improvement of the health status of the people as well as their overall socio economic well being through their active participation inculcating the spirit of self reliance for sustainability.
HDAI is interested in TB because TB is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in Nigeria and Kano State in particular. In addition, there is a well structured control programme at Federal, State and LGA levels which NGOs like ours can leverage upon to contribute our quota towards the reduction of TB related deaths in the spirit of partnership.
As an NGO, we are already involved in community TB care implementation in Kano state, which is the most populous state in Nigeria. This is in collaboration with the State TB control programme and funding from GFATM. We are also into ACSM activties aimed at improving political commitment, creating awareness and mass mobilisation of grassroots for TB control.
