Introduction
The International Human Rights Organization was founded in 2000 in Pukhtun Khawa to reinforce motivation and to strengthen democratic institutions in Pakistan and to mobilize people from different walks of life in connection with the protection of Human Rights on National level.
IHRO collaborates with other organizations, which have been struggling for the same agenda i.e. Democratization, Accountability and Good Governance in Pakistan. It was established in the Pukhtun Khuwa and FATA, because of the hostile environment prevalent there. This organization was registered in Pakistan on 28th October 2002. It is a non-profit, non political organization without discrimination of sex, sect, gender, region or religion.
Its immediate mandate is to monitor document and publicize human rights violations in Pakistan. Initially IHRO has been focusing its attention on political and civil rights, child protection, violence against women through a comprehensive in-built methodology involving monitoring, documentation, lobbying and advocacy regarding Human Rights violation.
VISION
To serve members of ailing humanity. To promote and develop an equitable society that can provide guarantee of protection of all the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights to disabled persons and unfortunate people of the nation.
MISSION
To create a conducive atmosphere for the betterment of disabled persons by providing medical and psychological services to them. It also aims at providing economic and physical resources and necessary vocational training to them so that they may be able to lead independent life and become useful and active members of work force of Pakistan.
The NGO actively coordinates all information relating to NGOs, VBCs, and other related agencies including government departments etc with regard to humanitarian and development activities at both National and International levels.
