Organization Description:
VASAVYA MAHILA MANDALI (VMM) established forty years ago with Gandhian ideology as a not for profit secular voluntary organization is working in the rural as well as urban areas of Andhra Pradesh. VMM works with a vision to promote comprehensive social, economic and political development for women, children and youth in vulnerable situations, there by empowering communities in A.P to improve their quality of life, and build a better civil society in India.
VMM is working in the area of Tuberculosis since last one decade as TB is a major public health problem and also co infection for HIV. Andhra Pradesh is a HIV high prevelence state in India. We are currently working in the under served areas for reducing tuberculosis with a focus on women and girl children with a network of six NGOs in six districts of andhra Pradesh with support of UKAID and TB Alert.
Advocacy and community driven initiatives are key working areas for reduction of TB in communities.

TB Care Delivery:
VMM has developed play way IEC (information,Education and Communication) meterial for low literate population in under served rural and tribal communities. Advocating with state and district TB officers for improving sputum collection in sparsely populated areas, nutrtion for children and pregnent women on DOTS.

TB-HIV:
Improving cross referrals between TB and HIV to improve the quality life.
