| The mission of TIPU Foundation is to create better socio-economic conditions for the rural population especially focusing women, children and youth, to fostering local development, to improving health conditions, and to tackling environmental issues through empowerment process. TB is a major burden in Pakistan and ranks in 8th in high risk countries; so we are interested to enegage in this program. |

Pakistan contributes about 44% of tuberculosis burden in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. According to WHO, the incidence of sputum positive TB cases in Pakistan is 80/100,000 per year and for all types it is 177/100,000.TB is responsible for 5.1 percent of the total national disease burden in Pakistan. The impact of TB on socio economic status is substantial.
TIPU Foundation is contributing TB Control program through social mobilization and awareness raising including referral mechanism to the Government facilities and testing laboratories and also having facility of TB treatment at TIPU foundation run MCH center at Jampur District Rajanpur. |
