Organization Description:
1.About our organisation
Centre for Education and Empowerment of the Marginalized (CEEMA) was registered on 23rd November 2004. It is a social wing of the Catholic Diocese of Coimbatore and has the mandate to serve the marginalized sections of the people living in the Districts of Erode, Karur and Tirupur which forms part of the Diocese of Coimbatore. It has its head office at 121, Perundurai Road, Thindal, Erode – 638 012, Tamil Nadu, South India. CEEMA has its infrastructure with office and training hall, qualified and trained programme & administration staff.

Vision:
CEEMA envisions a world where justice, peace and love rule, where the abundant resources are shared responsibly, and the people are able to ensure sustained livelihood and total empowerment.

Mission:
To capacitate the vulnerable and marginalized communities to attain holistic human development, to promote the natural resources and to protect the environment, by their participation and involvement in the process of animation, empowerment, lobbying and advocacy.

2.Reasons for interested in TB
The target people being agricultural labourers or labourers in textile units or non agrarian sectors earn a meager income. Most of them go to Erode, Tiruppur or Karur, the nearby towns, in search of job opportunities.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
CEEMA has been implementing the activities of Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) through Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI).

We have been mother NGO in implementing CHAI - GFATM Round 9 TB PROJECT AXSHAYA in Erode district Tamilnadu, South India.

CEEMA has undertaken and implementing the following activities in consultation with the District Coordinator appointed by CHAI:
1.Conducting Community Meetings
2.Facilitating various trainings, meetings and events in consultation with District Coordinator of CHAI.

We have conducted 70 Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM)in the district of Erode.

RCH Training (Reproductive and Child Health):
CEEMA has been conducting RCH training to the women and the adolescent girls in which awareness on TB is the one of main focus.

Observation of World TB/ HIV/AIDS day:
CEEMA has been observing World TB/ HIV/AIDS day by conducting of public meeting and rally, cultural programme to impart the message about the prevention of TB and to invite the public to give their participation to build healthy community.

Distribution of IEC:
We have been conducting medical camps, distribution of Informative Educational Communicative (IEC) materials to our target people.

TB Care Delivery:
CEEMA has undertaken and implementing the following activities in consultation with the District Coordinator appointed by CHAI:
1.Conducting Community Meetings
2.Facilitating various trainings, meetings and events in consultation with District Coordinator of CHAI.

We have conducted 70 Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilisation (ACSM)in the district of Erode.
