Counseling and Family Life Organization (CAFLO) is a non-profit making, non-political, voluntary and non governmental organization (NGO) established in June 2006 and got registration in February 2007 under non Government Organizations Act 2002 of united republic of Tanzania, its registration number is OONGO/1900. Vision: CAFLO envisage for the vibrant society of which people are living peacefully, healthily and well observing human rights with full participation in various socio-economic development programs. Mission: CAFLO exists to improve and promote peace, health and socio-economic development by empowering family members to fight against problems/crisis facing them like HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria and other fatal diseases, domestic violence, poverty, child abuse, drug abuse, hunger, commercial sex works, alcoholism, etc. The interest of CAFLO to combat TB:According to the mission, health improvement and promotion is among the roles of CAFLO, and TB infection is among the major diseases which have been affecting many family members in Tanzania especially grassroots people. Thus, CAFLO`s experts have been spent time to empower various community members to prevent TB infections in their daily life, therefore community sensitization meetings and seminars have been organized aimed at equiping people with skills and knowledge on preventing TB infection, and this has been done hand to hand with encouraging them to go to hospital or health centers for TB check up. Our plan:In order to achieve the mission and reach the vision, we have largely planned to increase efforts on identifying many people who have infected with TB, and among the measures to be used is to increase human resource whereas more peer educators/community sensitizers and sputum fixers will be trained effectivelly. Also, CAFLO has planned to strengthen collaboration with several government hospitals, health centers and dispansaries for enabling TB patients to access quality treatment. |
