Mission:
SRIYA is committed for sustainable poverty reduction through a rights based approach by engaging and capacitating poor, neglected and vulnerable communities (men and women) by advocating their human rights. Objectives •To promote and advocate rights of poor, vulnerable and neglected people and communities especially those less privileged groups including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women and people vulnerable to and living in poverty; • To strengthen regional and local partnerships as an integral part of the advocacy, communication and social mobilization strategies for control and prevention of different diseases and access to treatment; •To raise awareness in the community, amongst the general public and at-risk groups of TB, MDR TB, TB-HIV about their rights and duties through advocacy, communication and social mobilization activities; • To produce patient information and education resources, helping to ensure that TB patients continue their treatment to completion and avoid the risk of drug resistance; •To fight discrimination against patients suffering from different diseases and to convert fear and prejudices particularly in the area of TB, HIV/AIDS, Leprosy and other diseases into acceptance, tolerance and respect.
