We collaborated with NTP to commemorate the 2013 World TB Day. The event was successful because key stakeholders were attracted to the event and awareness on TB was raised

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

DOTS Expansion and Enhancement:
We advocate to key stakeholders on TB, help the local NTP mobilize resources from Government and raise awareness on TB through sponsored messages on electronic and print media including TB patient and community health education

Drug-Resistant TB:
We use Community Volunteers to identify cough symptomatics and refer them for AFB and GeneXpert screening

Fundamental Research:
Together with other partners and NTP, we are interested in how much our religious leaders know about TB, HIV and Leprosy. We plan to engage them as Volunteers to help identify suspects, especially of TB, in prayer houses
