Organization Description:
Community Youth Development Foundation (CYDEF) is a nonprofit Non - Governmental Organization (NGO) established in 2007 and registered in January, 2008 under the companies’ code 1963 (Act 179). CYDEF engages people in developmental activities aimed at reducing poverty level through economic values, social and environmental changes among rural people, most especially young people, women and children among others
CYDEF has over the years undertaken number of projects which facilitated the development of the people within Kintampo North and South districts through collaborative efforts.
CYDEF’s strategic framework include Health development services with relations to HIV and AIDS prevention programmes, Education, Advocacy issues, conflict resolution, Gender issues, Youth Development, and Good Governance.

VISION:-
Cultivate in our target audience mostly the youth, women and children Positive attitudinal and behavioural changes for holistic living and national development.

MISSION STATEMENT:-
Strategising and delivering of quality services to mankind and working in partnership with other
Like- minded groups and individuals to provide relief services, rehabilitation through education, Advocacy, Counseling and self-reliance activities within target beneficiary communities for the alleviation
of poverty.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
Many people do not know that TB ha a cure and thereby stigmatize against TB patients.
My organization public education on TB within Kintampo North and South districts to create awareness among them that there is a possible cure for TB. We refer any suspected to have had TB to Hospitals for cure and treatment.

Drug-Resistant TB:
We also educate the public on the benefits of taking drugs given them at hospitals. We urge
care takers/parents to ensure that their relative suffering from TB take the drugs according to instructions given.

TB-HIV:
HIV prevention programmes were being carried out by the the organization within Kintampo North and South districts. The public were sensitized on opportunistic infections which include TB. HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC)was also conducted to enable people know their HIV status. Those found positive were referred to hospital for confirmation.

Laboratory Strengthening:
All clients referred to the hospitals are sent the laboratory for further diagnosis.
Though, the organization was not able to support the strengthening/Equipping the Lab to enable have effective testing.
