Organization Description:
Alliance Ukraine (AU)is a leading professional organization fighting HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine. Our mission is to reduce the spread of the HIV infection and AIDS mortality and alleviate the negative impact of epidemic through supporting community action against HIV/AIDS in Ukraine and disseminating effective approaches to HIV prevention and care throughout Eastern Europe and Central Asia. AU has been involved in fighting against TB since 2011 as one of SR of R9 GFATM. Now it is one of three PR of NFM in Ukraine. AU supports local CSOs involved in TB activities: early TB detection among most-at-risk groups and MDR TB treatment supply. AU also povides technical support to CSOs (trainings, info materials, video etc.)

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
AU is one of TB stakeholders in Ukraine and one of PRs of NFM. AU is a member of WGs of MoH Ukraine aimed to develope National TB and TB/HIV guidelines, drug procurement. AU is responsible for procurement and supply management of 2nd line antiTB drugs as well as lab equipment for TB diagnostics and consumables.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

Drug-Resistant TB:
AU provides support to MDR TB patients at out-patient phase of treatment. It's planned to support 4850 patients in 2015. AU procures and supplies 2nd line drugs to MDR TB patients as well as drugs for side effects treatment.

TB-HIV:
AU participated in TB/HIV National protocol development. AU is responsible for project implementation on early TB detection among MARPs using screening questionnaire. It's aimed to cover with TB screening 161 thousand clients during 2015-2017

Laboratory Strengthening:
AU procured and supplied Lab equipment for TB diagnostics: BACTECs, Gene-Xperts, Hain-tests, - to laboratories of TB-clinics. Currently AU supplies consumables for these equipment

Research:
AU conducted several operational researces on different TB and TB/HIV topics. The last one is "Assessment of CSOs capacity to respond to TB epidemic in Ukraine"
