Organization Description:
Ageing Nepal is a Non-governmental organization working on the issues of ageing population in Nepal. The major working areas of Ageing Nepal are advocacy, research and training. Older people (60+) are more vulnerable to Tuberculosis than people of any other age group. And yet most of the developing countries, including Nepal, do not have policies and programmes to fight TB that are focused on ageing population. So we are campaigning for this issue.Ageing Nepal in partnership with National Tuberculosis Center, Government of Nepal campaigned for older people focused TB control programme on World TB Day 2016 with the slogan "LEAVE NO OLDER PERSON BEHIND WITH TB". Such elderly focused TB control campaign was done for the first time in Nepal. We are planing to campaigning for this issue in collaboration with other organizations working on TB.

As our organization is working for the issues of ageing population, we are contributing by campaigning elderly focused TB control programme with the theme of "Leave No Elderly Behind with Tuberculosis". We are doing media campaign to bring the issue of TB and Elderly in the forefront of national discourse.

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
The campaign team of Ageing Nepal will contribute to Global Plan to Stop TB by organizing media campaign. We will publish an article on TB and elderly in Jyestha Nagarik (Senior Citizens), bi-monthly vernacular magazine of Ageing Nepal. Similarly, we will also broadcast elderly and TB related messages from our weekly radio programme, Budhyauli Jeewan (Old Age) in radio Sagarmatha, 102.4 MHz the oldest community radio of Nepal. As well as our TB campaign team will meet government authorities to lobby for the formulation of policies and programmes focused on TB in old age. Besides this, we will also run advocacy campaign in collaboration with others government or non-government organizations.
