Our mission now is focus on Tuberculosis control and capacity building within the Communicable diseases team. I will focus more on MDR-TB. The rate of MDR-TB is on the increase in Somalia and we need different approach to reduce the numbers and eradicate this old disease in Somalia. i feel that all stakeholders and donors should focus more on the Somalia situation and allocate resources.I feel the Somalia NTB Programme needs new approach and extra resources.
We are now on the ground and need to take part in the control of TB cases. We need to start huge health promotion and awareness in all over Somalia. Work closely with other partners in increases the detection rate and compliance & adherence to medication.

We have started work in Somalia 3 months ago. We had link with Somalia National TB Programme at the Ministry of Health and discovered so much difficult issues relating to TB cases. TB cases are on the increase specially MDR-TB. We want to work on this area and take part in reducing cases. We want to increase data collection, surveillance, contact tracing, adherence. We want to be the StopTBPartnership team in Somalia.

TB Care Delivery:
Advocate clearly the needs of TB suffers and their families.
Reach out to the difficult to reach communities and assess their needs.
Sharing information and working closely with all TB partners and bringing a culture of openness.

Drug-Resistant TB:
MDR-TB is in alarmimg rate in Somalia.. more than 600 cases currently. We have started discussing this matter with the NTB Programme lead.

Laboratory Strengthening:
To help to increase the resources available

New Diagnostics:
To increase the detection rate by involving communities and doing more outreach activities
