Organization Description:
Access Youth Initiative-Uganda is a youth-led nationally registered NGO established to respond to the poor health conditions and rights violations of marginalized young people especially children, girls and young women in Uganda. Since then, the organization has integrated activities consistent with health advocacy and awareness in HIV/AIDS and TB including fighting stigma.
We are most interested in Tuberculosis as Uganda is one of the 22 high TB burden countries in the world which has cost the country millions of Dollars whereas a substantial labor force has been lost reducing economic progress.
We are currently conducting grassroot awareness on HIV and TB screening, sensitizing local communities on the importance of early testing and seeking treatment. We engage local leadership at sub county and district levels in a bid to increase their activism in lobbying for better service provision in as afar as TB treatment is concerned.
