| URIDU (www.uridu.org) is a German NGO that is providing illiterate rural women with vital knowledge. We have been developing and pioneering accessible audio learning in the global south over the last 3 years. URIDU is combining relevant, localized expert audio contents with easily accessible hard- and software. We are spreading health education and more using our solar-powered MP3 players and mobile web applications. URIDU has shown that educating marginalized women using audio is a feasible endeavor that yields excellent results. We did this in successful pilot projects in Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since 2016 we are providing audio health education about TB in our contents and our devices. As a partner of StopTB we would like to cooperate with other organizations to make this knowledge accessible for marginalized populations, especially for women and girls. |

TB Care Delivery: We have been providing information about TB to marginalized women as part of our projects in Tanzania (2016), Uganda (2017), the Congo (2018) and currently in Rwanda and Nepal (2019). Moreover, health education about TB is part of our Audiopedia project (www.audiopedia.org) which provides freely downloadable audio files that can be used in health education. We would love to expand this approach in co-operation with Stop TB partners. |
