Sub Group on ACSM at Country Level - Cairo Workshop

The Stop TB Partnership Secretariat and the Johns Hopkins University, Center for Communication Programs (CCP) organized a TB Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization consultant's workshop in Cairo, Egypt from 5-7 April 2005 at the El Gazirah Hotel.

CCP, as a member of the Stop TB Partnership Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization Working Group, partnered with the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat to facilitate this three-day workshop. The workshop provided an opportunity for advocacy, communication and social mobilization (ACS) consultants and partners to: develop a common framework for advocacy, communication, and social mobilization programming at the country level; familiarize themselves with the technical requirements for drafting GFATM proposals; and, be oriented to specific countries that will receive assistance with proposal development. Following the workshop, it is expected that participating consultants will be deployed to selected countries to assist the Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) develop the communication component of the round five GFATM proposals for TB.

Invited participants include communication consultants from each of the WHO regions (including four consultants from the Eastern Mediterranean Region) and representatives from WHO (including one from EMRO), Massive Effort Campaign, KNCV, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), DIFID and other representatives of the STBP Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization Working Group.

This is a working web page designed to be a gathering point for ASC consultants and partners where workshop participants and partners can work together to support the developed of robust ACS components to the 5th round of the GFATM.
