NIH/NIAID Grant - Partnerships for Development of Therapeutics and Diagnostics for Biodefense (R01)
This initiative will support development of diagnostics to rapidly identify NIAID Category A, B or C agents and their resistance profiles. Diagnostics are needed to identify infectious agents or toxins in diverse clinical samples (swabs, sputum, blood, serum, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, stool, etc.) from individuals at multiple stages of infection/intoxication. Thus, diagnostics applications must focus on detection and identification of biological threat agents in human clinical samples.
