Infection control is a public health specialty needed to prevent the spread of diseases such as TB which is spread through aerosolized droplet nuclei after infectious people cough or sneeze. There are many policies that outline activities which can be implemented to minimize the risk of spreading TB infection, especially in health care facilities and congregate settings. This page is designed to provide information about up-to-date policy guidance on TB infection control and share the activities of the TB Infection Control Subgroup of the Global TB/HIV Working Group, Stop TB Partnership.
The Infection Control (IC) sub-group of the TB/IHV Working Group works to facilitate the development of policies, strategies, and guidelines for implementing effective TB infection control practices, monitoring and evaluation systems.
The IC sub-group builds strategic partnerships and capacity for effective TB infection control of HIV, TB and other stakeholders active in infection control.
