On the 25th March: The Board Meeting will be inaugurated by the Chair Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Vice Chair Mr. Austin Obiefuna, Executive Director Afro Global Alliance. Affected Community and NGO Delegations to the Stop TB Partnership Board will take the stage to launch The Accountability Report of TB-affected Communities & Civil Society: Priorities to Close the Deadly Divide. With inputs from over 1200 TB-affected communities and civil society partners from over 92 countries, the 6 “calls to action” from the report provide a community perspective on progress against targets and priorities to end TB. The first day of the Board will include a forward-looking session “Making the Impossible – Possible” in which 1-2 years innovations in TB service delivery, data systems, digital health, diagnosis, treatment and care developed in India will be shared.

World TB Day 2023 World TB Day 2023Friday, March 24, 2023 - 00:00 to 23:00 World wide World TB Day, falling on March 24th each year, is designed to build public awareness that tuberculosis today remains an epidemic in much of the world, causing the deaths of nearly one-and-a-half million people each year, mostly in developing countries. It commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch astounded the scientific community by announcing that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis, the TB bacillus. At the time of Koch's announcement in Berlin, TB was raging through Europe and the Americas, causing the death of one out of every seven people. Koch's discovery opened the way towards diagnosing and curing TB. |

TB), Jaringan Indonesia Positif (JIP), Spiritia Yayasan, and Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for UHC2030 (CSEM) At least 80 participants consisting of a mix of representatives from APCASO focal point partner organisations; Stop TB Partnership (STP) Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) Round 11 grantee organisations from the region; leading Indonesian, regional and global community and civil society organisations working on UHC, pandemic responses, and TB; to dialogue with representatives of country governments, including from National TB Programs (NTP), country embassy representatives in Jakarta; and regional and global technical and development partners are participating at the Dialogue. The convening will aim to facilitate: 1. Sharing of key information, developments, concerns, and points for intervention on the HLMs on UHC, Pandemic Summit, and TB 2. Identification of shared HLM engagement aims; development of a regional position statement; and refinement and adoption of a regional engagement roadmap 3. Discussion of country-level plans for mobilisation and advocacy and areas for support 4. Holding of a dialogue with key government representatives from the region, country embassies in Jakarta, technical agencies and development partners. |
