Organization Description:
1- Our mission is to improve the environment of people living with HIV and those infected and affected by tuberculosis.

2- To empower communities to participate in governance and advocate for their right to good health and involve in decision making on issues affecting them.

3- Voluntary Aid Services Organisation work in rural villages of T/A Njewa and in this rural setup, community members have their own beliefs, customs and traditions which they value most. For example most community members opt for traditional healers with suspicion of being bewitched which limit them for going to the hospital. Therefore VASO has been advocating voluntary counseling and testing as well as sensitization meetings on opportunistic illness which involve tuberculosis. After baseline survey conducted in respective communities, it is showing that there is limited information on signs and symptoms of tuberculosis which has forced VASO to do something on that by training community leaders and tradition healers on signs and symptoms of tuberculosis.
We are also doing community sensitization campaigns and awareness in order to increase information and knowledge among communities.
