Organization Description:
1. The mission and focus of Swaziland National Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS was established in November, 2004 by People Living with HIV and AIDS. It mission is to enhance an enabling environment that empowers People Living with HIV and AIDS for improved quality of life. And its focus is mainly on advocacy, lobbying, coordination and capacity building for meaningful involvement of People Living with HIV in the national response to HIV/AIDS and TB co-infection.

Please tell us how your organization is contributing to your country's national TB control plan:
SWANNEPHA as the only National Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in the country, its involved in all the technical working groups (TWGs). SWANNEPHA has participated in the development of the National Strategic Framwork (NSF) 2009 - 2014 which has been recently extended (eNSF) to 2014 - 2018 from the New Funding Model of the Global Fund was considered. TB control plan is inclusive in the eNSF. In addition, SWANNEPHA is a member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM)which is responsible for utilization of the Global Fund to which TB is inclusive.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
SWANNEPHA's will play the key role of capacitation of the target population, impact mitigation, advocacy and to educate communities on the importance of TB screening and HIV testing, and training on treatment adherence.

TB-HIV:
SWANNEPHA is currently part of the country proposal drafting team for a joint concept paper to be presented to Global Fund for funding to implement a national joint HIV/TB and Malaria program starting late 2014 here in Swaziland.

New TB Drugs:
Since one of the role of SWANNEPHA is advocacy, in the event of new TB drugs in the country, the organisation can play a key role in advocacy and sensitizing of the target population on testing and adherence to treatment.
