AFMS – Who Are We?

Mr Gregers Chalker heads up AFMS as Managing director and Owner of the company. He has been involved in the company for the past 23 years. Since inception, the business has grown to over 30 employees.

The business has expanded over the years, not only to a filtration business but to cover “Clean Room” environments as well as “Containment Facilities”, but also includes any products such as Class II Safety Cabinets and Class III Cabinets as well as service and certification.

Up and until 5 years ago, he was still very active within the field certification of the business, having personally serviced and certified at least 3000 Safety Cabinets and equipment alike. His time now is more focused on managing the business as well as designing Bio Safety Level 3 facilities throughout South Africa as well as the rest of Africa and developin countries.

He has worked in 90% of all the countries throughout Africa and is the key person for all BSL3 commissioning processes to determine whether all the requirements relating to the set up guidelines are met.

He is familiar with all present global containment guidelines and has had the privilege to work with a very wide range of researchers throughout the world assisting to design and install facilities. His mentors are from the USA and Canada with whom he consults with on a regular basis.

In this ever-changing world, it is imperative to be part of the network of international experts to remain abreast of new technology and methods pertaining to the containment and the support to facilities in developing and developed countries.

His strength and passion lie in his ability to understand a process or procedure and mechanical equipment that forms the heart of a containment system.
