Organization Description:
"E.V.A." is a network that contributes to improving the quality of life of women affected by HIV infection, TB and other socially significant diseases. It brings together experienced activists in the field of access to health care and women leaders from the major cities of Russia and other regions, who work in this field.
In Russia, TB is the most wideaspread opprtunistic disease at HIV-infected people. Women with TB and HIV\TB co-infections are not protected enough by the state. We conducted a research on barriers of access of people living with HIV\TB co-infection to medical and social services . We plan to educate the employees of the medical and social state institutions on the specifics of work with people living with HIV\TB co-infection.

Contribution

Please tell us how your organization will contribute to the Global Plan to Stop TB by briefly describing its involvement in any of the areas of work listed below:

TB Care Delivery:
2013. Spread of knowledge on TB among PLHIV community. Monitoring of access of people with HIV\TB co-infection to the medical and social services, as well as on barriers to adherence to treatment of TB. Based on the results of this monitoring, letters with suggestions to the state government bodies were sent. Engaging representatives of PLHIV community in press-conferences, aimed at distribution of information about the problems of patients with HIV\TB co-infection.

TB-HIV:
2015. Holding round tables and training events with the participation of experts and representatives of the community for the specialists of tuberculosis and infectious diseases services. The aim is to improve knowledge about support of patients with HIV\TB co-infections, to establish horizontal connections between them and to work out the algorithms of interaction. Participation in the Global Plan To Stop TB 2016-2020 Consultation.
