2nd Expert Workshop on the development of tests for progression of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) to active disease

On 1st July 2016, the NDWG convened an expert workshop on LTBI hosted by San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy. The objectives of the meeting were as follows:

  • To propose a standard terminology for LTBI and LTBI diagnostics.
  • To finalize the TPP for a test of progression and define a dissemination strategy for the document
  • To prepare an advanced draft of a guidance document for the evaluate of such a test and eventually submit it for WHO approval.
  • To provide an overview of the most promising research in this area.
