Chair

H.E. Mr Mansukh Mandaviya

Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya is the Minister of Health and Family Welfare; and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers in the Government of India. He holds a Postgraduate degree in Political Science from Bhavnagar University located in the Indian state of Gujarat. Mr. Mandaviya has been active in politics since his youth, and he has held many senior leadership positions at the regional and national levels. During his political career, he has held many portfolios, including Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, and Chemical & Fertilizers in the Government of India. In March 2018, he was re-selected for the Second Term as the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha (Upper House), Government of India. He also holds the record of being the youngest member of the Legislative Assembly in his home state of Gujarat in India.

Mr. Mandaiya is well known for his intellectual analysis and thought leadership, which he also exhibited in his speech on “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” at the United Nations. As the Chair of the Stop TB Board, he will lead the efforts of the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat, partners, and the TB community at large, towards reaching the UN TB targets by 2022, a milestone moment in the effort to end TB by 2030.

Vice Chair

Dr Joanne Carter
Executive Director, RESULTS

Dr Joanne Carter has been the Vice-Chair of the Stop TB Partnership Board for two terms of service.

She has also served in a range of board and advisory roles with the Global Fund, the Micronutrient Initiative, the Global Campaign for Education-U.S., and the Global Financing Facility for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health.

Dr Carter is the Executive Director of RESULTS, supporting a movement of passionate, committed, everyday people who are using their voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty. Under her direction, RESULTS leads advocacy campaigns to create more equitable policies and drive billions of dollars of government investment towards the highest-impact solutions to poverty. She joined RESULTS as Legislative Director in 1992, was appointed Associate Executive Director in 2007, and became Executive Director in 2008. Under her leadership, RESULTS has grown to include chapters and grassroots volunteers in every state in the United States of America, with advocacy partnerships around the world.

Dr Carter holds a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree from Cornell University and was a practicing veterinarian from 1987 to 1992. She has served as a VISTA volunteer and as a recruiter for the Peace Corps. Prior to joining the RESULTS staff, Dr Carter served as a RESULTS volunteer Group Leader and then Regional Coordinator for four years in the New York City area.
