Coordinating Board appoints new Vice-Chair and members of Executive and Finance Committees

07 October 2013 - Geneva - The Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board has appointed a new Vice-Chair and members of its Executive and Finance committees.

Dr Joanne Carter, Executive Director of RESULTS has been elected as Vice-Chair and will serve for a period of three years.

Dr Carter has nearly two decades of experience engaging in and leading advocacy efforts to increase resources and political attention for tuberculosis (TB).

She has been engaged with the TB Community and the Stop TB Partnership for many years, most recently providing input to the Executive Committee on the Secretariat’s Operational Strategy. Through her long-term involvement with the Global Fund Board, including as a Board member, Dr Carter has extensive experience working on difference aspects of global public health.

These appointments are the latest step in a series of governance reforms approved by the Coordinating Board at its 22nd meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in November 2012 to improve its performance and its impact on TB.
