First ever global meeting of people affected by TB and key populations convened in Bangkok

5th November, Bangkok, Thailand - The Stop TB Partnership has this week convened the first ever global meeting of people affected by TB and key populations in Bangkok, Thailand.

The meeting of people affected by TB, on the 2nd November, will generate a series of stories about difficult "journeys" people have taken to overcome TB, told in their own words. These stories provide messages from TB survivors to others with the disease, and generate a platform to build strong networks of global TB survivors. The meetingbrought together voices of people who won the fight against TB from across the globe - to talk, share and plan for their next national and global advocacy efforts towards the new paradigm in the fight against TB.

The TB key populations meeting will generate a compedium of several microguides with practical guidance on how to address the needs and views of those most vulnerable to TB, who usually have very limited access to diagnosis, treatment and care.

These meetings would not have been possible without support from USAID and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
